In the complex world of legal services, results matter. At Colonels Chambers, we deliver those results through a rare combination of legal expertise and practical insight. Founded by Jeffrey L. Lloyd in 2014, our boutique firm understands that effective legal counsel requires more than knowledge of statutes—it demands vision, creativity, and genuine commitment to your objectives.
We specialize in navigating both domestic Bahamian legal matters and sophisticated international structures. Whether structuring an investment fund, establishing a trust, forming a company, or securing intellectual property, we provide clear guidance through complex terrain with a focus on tangible outcomes that advance your goals.
What sets us apart isn't just what we do, but how we do it. We listen first, understand completely, and then execute with precision. This client-centered approach has earned the trust of individuals and businesses seeking more than just legal documentation—they want legal solutions that create lasting value.
Colonels Chambers was established in 2014 by Jeffrey L. Lloyd, bringing his unique blend of experience and legal expertise to clients in the Bahamas and beyond.
Born on October 6, 1951 in New Providence, Bahamas, Mr. Lloyd has led a multifaceted professional life before his legal career. After graduating from St. Augustine's College in 1969, he earned degrees from St. Gregory's Junior College in Oklahoma and Xavier University in New Orleans, where he completed a Bachelor's Degree in Communications in 1974.
His early career included work as a news reporter with ZNS Radio and teaching English and Drama at St. Augustine's College for five years. Between 1979 and 1984, he worked in the United States as a Communications Consultant with AT&T telephone company.
In his commitment to community service, Mr. Lloyd was the founding Executive Director of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese's Youth Empowerment and Skills Training Institute (YEAST) which targeted at-risk teenage boys. His dedication to service extended to his role in the Roman Catholic Church, where he was ordained into the Permanent Deaconate in 2000 and served for 11 years as Permanent Deacon at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.
Later in his career, Mr. Lloyd pursued legal education at the University of Wolverhampton, England and completed his Certificate of Legal Education at the Eugene Dupuch Law School in Nassau. He was called to The Bahamas Bar in October 2009.
His diverse experience culminated in his election as a Member of Parliament in May 2017, after which he was appointed the Minister of Education for the Cabinet of the Bahamas.
This rich and varied professional journey gives Mr. Lloyd a unique perspective in his legal practice. At Colonels Chambers, clients benefit from legal counsel informed not just by technical knowledge of the law, but by real-world experience across business, education, communications, and public service. This background allows us to understand client needs from multiple angles and develop solutions that address both legal requirements and broader objectives.
